Hop on your mountain bike and ride the well-maintained trails that wind through the entire Utrechtse Heuvelrug. In the evening, you won’t have to think about a thing – our restaurant will serve you a delicious three-course dinner to refuel your energy. After a hearty breakfast the next morning, you’ll get back on the bike to explore a new route and take in more of the beautiful surroundings. If you’d like, we can also prepare a lunch-to-go for you to enjoy along the way. Just let us know when booking your room or upon check-in at reception.
When you return, our late check-out ensures you’ll have plenty of time to freshen up and gather your things before heading home – recharged and satisfied.
Please note: To access the mountain bike trails, you’ll need a valid mountain bike permit (vignet) for the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. This can be purchased in advance for €7.50 and is valid for the entire calendar year.
From Landgoed de Horst, it takes just a few minutes of pedalling to reach one of the many mountain bike trails that crisscross the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The surrounding area offers a beautiful balance between history and modern life. Some routes lead you past historic landmarks and sights, while others challenge your bike handling and technical skills.
At the reception in our manor house, you'll find various trail maps from MTB Utrechtse Heuvelrug – a collaborative initiative between landowners, nature conservationists, and mountain bikers. MTB Utrechtse Heuvelrug is also responsible for maintaining existing trails and developing new ones.
Wake up to a view of the Utrecht forests: from your hotel room, you can step straight into the private woodland of Landgoed de Horst, whether for a peaceful walk or an invigorating bike ride. In your room, a captivating story unfolds through visual art, photography, poetry, or music. Outside, the forest awakens under the spring sun, with trees and plants coming to life.
