Fancy an active weekend in the middle of nature? Kick off your adventure on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug!
Get on your mountain bike and ride across well-maintained trails throughout the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. In the evening, you won’t have to think about a thing: in our restaurant, we will serve you an exceptionally tasty three-course dinner to replenish your energy levels. The next day, after a good breakfast, you’ll get back on your bike to ride another route and explore the surroundings. If you wish, we can also provide a lunch-to-go, which you can eat along the way. Please indicate this when booking the room or at reception when you check in. Once you return, thanks to our late check-out, you’ll still have plenty of time to freshen up and pack your things before heading home feeling satisfied.
Please note: to use the mountain bike routes, you need a valid mountain bike permit from Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. You can order this in advance. The cost is €7.50 for a full calendar year.
Wake up with a view of the Utrecht forests: from your hotel room, you can walk or cycle straight into the private forest of Landgoed de Horst. In your room, you will discover an exciting story of visual art, photography, poetry, or music. Outside your room, the forest awakens in the spring sun, and you can enjoy budding trees and plants.
Every room is equipped with bathrooms with a bathtub or shower, a toilet, and a hairdryer. In addition, each room has a television, free Wi-Fi, a kettle, and a safe.
You can park your car with us on the premises free of charge, in one of our three parking areas. There is also a covered bicycle shed with charging points for e-bikes.
From Landgoed de Horst, you can pedal through to one of the many mountain bike routes on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug within just a few minutes. In the area, you will find a balance between historic and contemporary elements. Some mountain bike routes take you past historic buildings and sights, while other routes test your bike control and technical skills.
At the reception in our Country House, you will find several route maps from MTB Utrechtse Heuvelrug, a collaborative initiative by landowners, nature managers, and mountain bikers. MTB Utrechtse Heuvelrug also takes care of the maintenance of existing trails and the construction of new ones.
