This autumn, there will be significant roadworks in and around Driebergen. Maintenance work is planned on both the cycle paths and the main road of the N225, the connecting route between the motorway and the estate. Read below what this means for your journey to Landgoed de Horst.

rom Monday 13 October to Saturday 25 October, the Province of Utrecht will carry out maintenance work on the Driebergsestraatweg/Hoofdstraat (N225) between Driebergen and Doorn. The road will be completely closed, and traffic will be diverted. During this period, you can only use our entrance on Horstlaan.
The work is necessary, as the asphalt on several sections is due for replacement. It will be renewed during this project to ensure it lasts for years to come. Additionally, raised lane dividers will be installed in some areas, and verge reinforcement will be replaced. The speed limit will also be reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h.
Diversions
The N225 is a major road, which is why the works will take place day and night to keep the disruption period as short as possible. The project is divided into three sections:
- Section 1 – Driebergen town boundary to Boswijklaan
From Monday 13 October, 06:00 until Saturday 18 October, 23:59 - Section 2 – Boswijklaan to Velperengh
From Monday 13 October, 06:00 until Saturday 25 October, 23:59 - Section 3 – Velperengh to the Doorn town boundary
From Monday 20 October, 06:00 until Saturday 25 October, 23:59
To carry out the work safely, sections 1 and 3 will be completely closed. In section 2, work will be carried out locally, so a full road closure is not necessary.
Through traffic between Driebergen and Doorn will be diverted via the A12 and N227.
Cyclists
Cyclists can continue to use the cycle path between Driebergen and Doorn throughout the works. This path will also be used by residents and emergency services, so the municipality kindly requests all cyclists to ride with care and be mindful of other users. In case of emergency, emergency services will use the cycle path.
Public transport
During the works, no buses will run on the N225 between Driebergen and Doorn. Public transport will follow a diversion route. We advise all guests travelling by public transport to plan their journey in advance via 9292.nl.

Roadworks
Rijkswaterstaat will also be carrying out maintenance on local roads. From 1 September until mid-December, the cycle paths along the N225, from the A12 exit through the centre of Driebergen, will undergo works. This includes work on underground cables and pipelines, as well as the construction of a new section of cycle path.
Diversion for motorists
As a driver, you may experience some disruption from these works. In general, the carriageways of the N225 will remain open, but at certain phases of the project, one lane may be closed. In that case, traffic will be redirected onto the opposite lane. Rijkswaterstaat advises using the Arnhemsebovenweg as an alternative route during such times.
Diversion for cyclists
