Roadworks

in and around Driebergen

In August and September, there will be extensive roadworks in and around Driebergen. Maintenance is planned on the A12 motorway and the cycle paths along the N225, the connecting road between the motorway and our estate. Read below what this may mean for your journey to Landgoed de Horst.

A12 Roadworks

From the evening of Friday 22 August (20:00) until the morning of Monday 1 September (05:00), the A12 will be closed between junctions Maanderbroek and Lunetten. Rijkswaterstaat will be replacing the current asphalt with low-noise asphalt, carrying out green maintenance, replacing broken lighting, and performing general maintenance on signs, crash barriers and other roadside elements.

The closure may lead to delays of over 60 minutes. If you are attending a training at our estate during this period, we recommend leaving early by car, or travelling by public transport. From Utrecht Central Station, you can reach Landgoed de Horst in under 30 minutes. Simply take the train to Driebergen-Zeist station, and from there, take bus 50 towards Wageningen via Doorn or Veenedaal via Doorn, and get off at the Akkerweg stop.

N225 Roadworks

Rijkswaterstaat will also be carrying out maintenance on local roads. From 1 September until mid-December, the cycle paths along the N225, from the A12 exit through the centre of Driebergen, will undergo works. This includes work on underground cables and pipelines, as well as the construction of a new section of cycle path.

Diversion for motorists

As a driver, you may experience some disruption from these works. In general, the carriageways of the N225 will remain open, but at certain phases of the project, one lane may be closed. In that case, traffic will be redirected onto the opposite lane. Rijkswaterstaat advises using the Arnhemsebovenweg as an alternative route during such times.

Diversion for cyclists

Travelling by (public transport) bicycle from Driebergen-Zeist station? Diversion routes will be clearly signposted along the road during the works. Alternatively, download the BouwApp (via the Apple Store or Google Play Store) from contractor Dura Vermeer for the exact route.
